For the Massachusetts Spy, &c.
POETICAL REFLEXIONS ON THE SUDDEN AND SURPRISING DEATH OF
MR. SAMUEL BROWNING.
Officious muse assist my lay,
While I a mournful scene survey;
Thy kind assistance send:
Browning is dead! He's from me torn,
The best beloved soul is gone:
And I with plaintive cries do mourn,
Thy fate my dearest friend!
